  • AMEN! We have to see the link between increased consumerism, increased violence, increased rates of STDs (esp. among our people), increased divorce rates, more international aggression, civil rights infringements and a breakdown of the fabric of love, community, and Oneness. Please, someone, come remind us.
  • The Church is somewhere "acting out" and it's really sad. This whole scenario doesn't take the thinking of a rocket scientist. I'm much older than most writers here and I've seen things come and go. The "great wonderful better than all" America needs to keep it simple and fall to its knees and beg for God's mercy. • I agree with one quote from Pastor Adelaja in the W.Post article: "We're only saying anybody who has a value system shouldn't be ashamed of it." Well, our American value system makes possible a prosperous secular society where people are not forced into unhappy or destructive marriages, where women and men are viewed as equal, and where people are increasingly free to love whom they choose regardless of gender or race. These are not Christian values, but I thank my benevolent God that they remain strong American values, and we "shouldn't be ashamed of it."
